I think this video is amazing. I really enjoyed listening and watching the students' provide thier experiences with technology. This form of technology, in my opinion, needs to be researched and used by students. I hope my school will invest in some of this wonderful technology.

This was truly an amazing video. I am really amazed at how technology has advanced over the past few years. I think the video did a good job of showing how technology can help anything or anybody regardless of subject. The feedback from the students really made opened my eyes on the importance of technology.
I am hoping that the school where I currently work will research and disuss the possibilities of using some of this technoloy.

Technology in the Classroom

This video was truly inspiring - and also eye-opening. One of the first things that struck me was the technology that provided speech for students, and also machines that were manipulated with the movement of an eyebrow. It is just amazing how much we can do with technology in education, and how much further people with disabilities can go today than, say, 20 years ago. The boy in the band also had quite the story. I am sure it was not easy for him to overcome so many challenges but there is no doubt that assistive technology will enable him to accomplish any of his dreams in the future.

It is inspirational to see how technology can facilitate learning and “normalcy” from kids of all sorts of skills and abilities. Then to think of all the students out there that will never be able to benefit from it. It is unfortunate that cost has to factor into yet another area of education. There is a bumper sticker that I think is quite appropriate. It says something along the lines of: In a perfect world schools would have all the money they need and the military would have to hold bake sales to raise money.
Also, beyond just the financial limitations, the access to this wonderful technology is further limited by the knowledge of its existence. The companies that make the various assistive technologies need to promote the heck out of them so that teachers, parents, students, administrators, politicians, and everyone else knows what’s out there.

I found this video to really portray what Assistive Technology is meant to do. Without the technologies shown in this video those students would be very limited to following their dreams. The technology is allowing them to accomplish what they really want to do. The technologies mostly make up for the differences the disability they have is holding them back from. There are so many technologies out there now that are very amazing. It makes me sad to think about others that are out there living with disabilities and not doing anything to make their lives better. Just because you have a disability does not mean you should not be allowed to follow your dreams!

This was a glad story and the first time I had heard the term "Assistant Technology"
I believe it's something every school should have but I know that a budget issue for schools everywhere. Just think about the price of gas($3.29) in Memphis, so I know trying to get new equipment in schools is a budget problem.

I followed the link to purchase the video to be used in a graduate level course on AT, but was unable to find the title when using the search function. Is it actually possible to purchase this video?
